A common sight, carrying water on one’s head. Across Africa, carrying things on the head is a preferred method…good for posture and frees up the hands. People start to do it from childhood (as this boy is). This boy is carrying water from the local water pump (the only source of water besides harvesting rainwater). Dzogadze has no running/piped water…yet. In the background you see some traditional types of fencing and thatch roofs.

Dzogadze, Ghana, 2007
