At one time I hated Togo, well a border guard in particular. But Togo has much to offer and I plan to return. Being on the ancestral route of the Ewe people (the “tribe” of people I stay with in Ghana) there much of interest there for me. Since it borders with Ghana, one can pass freely back and forth (assuming you have the right papers). I’ve been on several occasions but never for more than 7 days (as I usually transit into Benin), but in each visit (2002, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011) I have been rewarded with some beautiful experiences.
